Keep white flour in fridge

Good thing must share...
Keep white flour in fridge

I received this email from my friend this morning when I woke up and decided to share with everyone.. Here is how the story goes..

Once I was cooking some corn and stuck my fork in the boiling water to see if the corn was ready. It missed and my hand went into the boiling water...

A friend of mine, who was a Vietnam vet, came into the house, just as I was screaming, and asked if I had some plain old flour. I pulled out a bag and he stuck my hand in it. He said to keep my hand in the flour for 10 minutes, which I did. He said that in Vietnam, this guy was on fire and in their panic, they threw a bag of flour all over him to put the fire out... well, it not only put the fire out, but he never even had a blister!!!

So, I put my hand in the bag of flour for 10 minutes, and then pulled it out and had not even a red mark or a blister and absolutely NO PAIN.

Now, I keep a bag of flour in the fridge and every time I burn myself, I use the flour and never ONCE have I ever had a red spot, a burn or a blister!
*cold flour feels even better than room temperature flour

MIRACLE, if you ask me. Keep a bag of white flour in your fridge and you will be happy you did. I even burnt my tongue and put the flour on it for about 10 minutes, and the pain was gone and no burn. Try it!!

Don't run your burn area under cold water first, just put it right into the flour for 10 minutes and experience a miracle!!

Do you believe such thing?? I should give it a try, I shall head down to the kitchen and put my plain flour in the fridge.. back at home, my mum did the same too.. Let's try, and share with everyone out there!! =D

homemade Sweet and Savoury Pork

Yesterday, I was looking through some recipe book and found this very simple dish.. so Vivian and I have a try on it.. it's called:

Sweet and Savoury Pork
Serves 4:
8 pork spare ribs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup oyster sauce
1/4 cup sesame oil

1. Place pork into a dish. Combine other ingredients. Toss with pork.
2. Cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours. Pour pork and marinade into a frying pan. Cook, covered, over very low heat for 30 to 35 minutes, turning occasionally, until marinade has almost evaporated.
3. Done =)

Isn't it simple?? but while marinating, we found out tat 1/2 is kinda 'too much'... so we juz add on our own.. but it still taste good... doesn't it look good?? ^^

Top 10 cancer-fighting foods

Yesterday, I mentioned about the anti-cancer fruits and vegetables..

Today, I'll go continue the topic with the Top 10 cancer-fighting foods...

1) Green tea - It contains a type of antioxidant called EGCG that has been shown to prevent cancer cells developing in the prostate and bladder...

2) Broccoli - It contains a compound called sulforaphane which has anti-cancer activity

3) Legumes - A US study found that those who ate legumes (dried beans and lentils) at least twice a week had a reduced risk of breast cancer

4) Tomatoes - Population studies found that men who are lots of tomatoes and tomato products had a lower risk of prostate cancer. This is thought to be due to lycopene, which gives tomatoes their red colour.

5) Soy - Foods such as soy milk, tofu and tempeh contain isoflavones (or phytoestrogens), thought to protect against hormone-related cancers such as breast and prostate.

6) Oily Fish - According to large population studies, those who eat oily fish regularly have a lower risk of developing cancer, including prostate and bowel cancer. Oily fish includes salmon, tuna, mackerel and sardines.

7) Carrots - A World Cancer Research Fund report found that eating carrots probably reduces the risk of lung, stomach and bladder cancer

8) Spinach/baby spinach - Folate contained in spinach appears to keep DNA healthy, thus reducing the chances of cancer developing

9) Onions - They enhance the activity of enzymes that neutralise cancer-causing substances

10) Corn - contains resistant starch that keeps the bowel healthy and reduces the chances of cancerous changes in cells.

So, after looking at the 10 products, how many did you eat so far?? I've looked through the list and found out tat, I only consume 6 out of 10!! hahaha... I'll need to eat all 10!! so be healthy!! hehehe..

Anyways, as said in the earlier post, this is gotten from the Australia food magazine.. I find it really interesting and helpful to everyone out there, so juz something to share with everyone.. =D
